Manchester City are preparing an astonishing £90m deal to take defender Gerard Pique from Barcelona, according to the Sunday People.

But City could lose striker Emmanuel Adebayor after he revealed he would be open to joining Juventus.

Liverpool boss Hodgson has described himself as ‘one of the most respected coaches in Europe’ and said it is ‘insulting’ to suggest he cannot handle the club’s big-name stars.

However, Hodgson has confided in friends that he feels Liverpool are six players short of challenging at the top of the table.

Arsenal striker Marouane Chamakh admits he has yet to taste a good English cup of tea.
