Now if you follow me on Twitter, you will have become quite accustomed to seeing me try to predict upcoming results. I usually fail. But I won’t let that stop me! This week sees some cracking looking fixtures. The curtain is raised on the new season at White Hart Lane where Tottenham entertain Champions League hopefuls Manchester City. Not a bad way to start the season I hear you say. The rest of the fixtures, all Saturday at 3 o’clock unless stated otherwise, are as follows:

Aston Villa vs West Ham United
Blackburn vs Everton
Bolton vs Fulham
Chelsea vs West Bromwich Albion (17:30)
Liverpool vs Arsenal (Sunday 16:00)
Manchester United vs Newcastle (Monday 20:00)
Sunderland vs Birmingham
Wigan vs Blackpool
Wolves vs Stoke

So now we reach the part of the post that you have all been waiting for. The predictions:

Aston Villa 1-1 West Ham United
Blackburn 1-0 Everton
Bolton 2-1 Fulham
Chelsea 3-0 West Bromwich Albion
Liverpool 1-1 Arsenal
Manchester United 2-0 Newcastle
Tottenham 1-1 Manchester City
Sunderland 2-1 Birmingham
Wigan 2-2 Blackpool
Wolves 0-0 Stoke

So there we have it. I admit I’m not quite in Paul the Octopus’ league but week one’s predictions are done. Here’s to a brilliant season. Good luck.

Leave your predictions in the comment box below. Show me how it’s really done.

The day belongs to Blackpool despite Chelsea’s brilliant start. Enjoy MOTD, chaps.
