Liverpool manager Roy Hodgson is lining up a £12.5m move for Costa Rica striker Bryan Ruiz. The 24-year-old scored 24 goals for Dutch champions FC Twente last season.

Hodgson is also rumoured to be interested in Wigan and Honduras star Maynor Figueroa. The full-back is also attracting interest from former boss Steve Bruce at Sunderland.

Liverpool striker Fernando Torres, a reported target for Chelsea, Manchester City and Barcelona, is refusing to commit his future to the club until he has spoken with new manager Roy Hodgson and the board of directors about the Anfield outfit’s immediate plans.
