Inter-est Cooled in Mascherano

25 06 2010

According to Sky Sports, Internazionale president Massimo Moratti has gone on record saying that his side are no longer chasing Javier Mascherano and they have turned their attentions to Brazil star Felipe Melo. The stumbling block appears to be Liverpool’s valuation of the Argentina captain which is believed to be around £25million.

“Mascherano is a strong player, but it is unlikely that he will arrive. He simply costs too much and it is not certain that Liverpool will sell, explained Moratti. “Melo is an intriguing idea and one that we are working on.”

Melo was a big money signing for Juventus last summer but Inter believe they can tempt the Old Lady into selling.
